Wow.  I can see it's been a long time since I've written anything.  I have what seems to be a mountain of grading.  I just took in freshmen research reports and sophomore mock trial paperwork.  I haven't finished sophomore research papers, and I'm getting portfolios soon.  Sigh.  This is usually my craziest grading period in terms of, well, grading.  Thankfully, grades are not due until after spring break.

Right now we are in the midst of the Ohio Graduation Tests, so the sophomores are fried from testing and the freshmen are squirrelly from being out of their routine, but we're making it through.  The upperclassmen are doing just fine.  Perhaps you can see why I haven't written--a play by play account of grading papers is not particularly exciting.

Actually, aside from the grading stress, life is pretty good right now.  And I have read other things besides student writing.  My Bible study group is studying Deuteronomy, and it's been an exciting and challenging study.  The youth Sunday school class is studying Psalms, and I just finished reading Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz.

The Girls Chrysalis retreat is coming up this weekend.  Please pray that God gives us team members and all those helping and participating what we need to do what He has for us to do this weekend.  Team goes Friday night.  The girls will be there from Saturday morning till Monday night.  Thanks!

Flying with Christ

So...I'm going to be on a Chrysalis team again this January.  A month ago I thought if I was asked I'd say no, but God opened things up for it.  I'm very excited to see what God has in mind.  Chrysalis is such an incredible opportunity to share God's love and character with young people as they are developing in their faith.  I feel honored to be given the chance again.  Please pray as the team continues to form and girls decide to come.
